Pompano Joes Parking Lot
What's left of the parking lot by Pompano Joe's after Dennis washed ashore. From NW FL Daily News 7/11/05
Crab Trap Parking lot Hurricane damage at The Crab Trap on Scenic Highway 98 on Monday morning. Boardwalks were once again pushed up into the parking lot, but the damage was not as severe as that caused by Hurricane Ivan in September of 2005. We thought it was over, but next year Hurricane Dennis did the same thing to this parking lot.
Hurricane Katrina Approaches Avalon Beach is littered with trash as a result of heavy surf generated by Hurricane Katrina. One day after this photo was taken, Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans.
Scratch One Condo This pile of rubble just east of Destiny by the Sea used to be a four-unit condominium, right on the beach. It buckled and fell onto the beach after waves from Hurricane Dennis washed the sand from beneath the building. Even in today in 2011 the lot stands empty, mute testimony to the danger Hurricanes present to all of us who live along the Gulf Coast.
